Frequently Asked Questions

Is your biz named after the Bob Dylan song “Lay Lady Lay”?

Yep! I thought it was appropriate for a pet care company, and I’m a Dylan fan! Cute, right?

Why should I choose Stay Lady Stay?

I provide peace of mind by providing “in your home” pet care. I believe that being in your pet’s home environment is the best way to build trust and provide a feeling of safety while their beloved (you) is away. I also keep an eye on your home and make sure your plants stay happy and hydrated in your absence.

Are you licensed, insured and bonded?

Absolutely! I am insured and bonded through Pet Sitters Associates.

Are you trained in pet first aid and CPR?

Yes and Yes! I also carry a pet specific first aid kit with me at all times.

Do you care for chickens, fish, rabbits and other small animals?

Yes! I have experience with lots of different animals. Bring on the guinea pigs, bearded dragons and rabbits!

Do you have a short notice service request fee?

Nope! I don’t charge for short notice but you do risk the chance that I can’t fulfill your request.

When is too early to request service?

Typically a 6-8 months notice is as far out as I can accommodate but I will consider your request at any time.

Do you work holidays? Do you offer overnights during the holidays too?

Yes and Yes! It is a busy busy time so book ahead. There is a 4 night minimum on all overnight bookings during the Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Year holiday.

If your rates, fees or policies change, how does that affect my already scheduled booking?

Rates, fees and policies are subject to change. If you book pet care 6 months or less from the start date I will honor the rate that was agreed upon at the time of booking. I am transparent and will let you know if any changes affect your scheduled booking.

*Please note that updated policies may affect your booking at any time.

*Please note that your rate is subject to change if a booking is made 6 months or more from the start date. For   example, if you have booked July pet care in January you may see changes on your final bill.

*Please check my website before each pet care request so you aware of any rate, fee or policy changes.

Do you require my pet to be up to date on vaccines, or be spayed or neutered?

Since many of my services are scheduled one-household at a time, I can care for puppies and kitties who haven’t had all their shots and/or haven't been spayed/neutered or older pets who may still be intact. I use pet cleanliness practices before and after visits to ensure your pets safety. The only limitation is skipping the dog park or other group outings until vaccinations are up to date or your pets are healed from surgery.

What if my pet has fleas? Can you still offer pet care?

No, I can't offer service if your pet has fleas. I require your pet to be flea-free and be on a routine flea treatment.

I can’t pick up my pet from the vet. Is that an option with your pet taxi service?

Yes, I can totally help. I can do one way and round trip transportation for your pet. Price TBD.

How do you accept payment?

I accept payment directly through Time To Pet. I'm happy to accept cash, check or Venmo as well.

There is no obligation to tip but if you would like to tip after great service you can look up your past invoices in your account and add a tip at anytime.

What happens if my pet becomes ill or needs to go the vet while in the care of Stay Lady Stay?

If I suspect that something is wrong with a pet, I will contact you ASAP. If you are not available I will call the emergency contacts I have on file and I will call the vet. If needed, I will take your pet for treatment. You will be billed for the time I spend on handling this event and for any other client pet care appointments that I may have had to cancel so I could prioritize your pet's emergency event.
